How I can help you

I'm a subject matter expert in technology, information systems, business strategy, execution/operations planning and measurement, team creation and engagement, and culture building. I also have significant experience in marketing and sales in services and product organizations. I'm a Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Change Management Practitioner, SafeZone Certified Inclusive Leader, and Assoc. of American Medical Colleges IT Leadership Institutue Fellow.

With 20 years of experience in non-profit, government, and private sector IT roles, I am prepared to support you in creating your strategy, building an execution plan and identifying metrics to measure progress, building best-in-class teams, and driving results based on deep constituent/customer engagement. With a focus on creating remarkable customer and employee experiences and continuous business process improvement/automation, I will support you in infusing advanced technology solutions and approaches, but keeping the focus where it belongs, on solid human judgement, communication, and connection.

I believe in building for the long term, and investing in people to create sustainable change. At the UNC School of Medicine, I completed a full reorganization of the enterprise application development, web and communications, and data teams, optimizing costs by ensuring high value work was assigned to high-skill/high-cost resources while necessary low value work was moved to low-cost resources.

In collaboration with the leadership team I co-created, we increased estimation accuracy by 30% and delivered >95% of projects within 5% of estimated target schedule. And we accomplished all of this with zero unhealthy turnover.

Prior to that I spent seven years building the IT team from scratch for an international non-profit organization that functioned on a service for revenue model supplemented by grants and donors. We had been in fast-growth mode in terms of infrastructure and development work, with >50% year-over-year growth for more than 5 years. As the top IT executive, I worked closely with our senior leadership team and the board of directors to co-create a technology vision, strategy, and operating plan that supported our goal to end hunger by 2030.

In the 10 years prior, I worked for two Fortune 500 companies learning valuable enterprise level strategy and economy of scale approaches, and then spent several years in nonprofit and small business consulting learning how to right-size large enterprise approaches at any scale. Along the way I built a reputation for being an inclusive, passionate and dedicated leader that values people and drives results.

Today I once again own my own business as a Leadership and Management Consultant, focused on supporting small to medium sized organizations with technology, strategy and execution, and leadership development.
